I will begin examining the contents of Newton’s Principia, starting with Lemma 1.
In modern terms, Lemma 1 is about limits and convergence.

This talk will cover the emergence of a scientific community in London and Paris, and the tremendous progress in both astronomy and mechanics between Descartes and Newton.

I will wrap up Galileo’s Two New Sciences and talk a bit about Descartes.

I’ll continue with what happens after Kepler’s Epitome of Copernican Astronomy.

I’ll resume discussion of Kepler writing the manuscript of Astronomia Nova.
